VLS Pharmacy alerts

VLS Pharmacy notifies by phone or email — no platform push notifications.

VLS Pharmacy's notification model is traditional pharmacy outreach: when an order is ready for pickup or has been shipped, VLS staff contact the prescribing office by phone or email. There are no configurable platform alerts, no in-app notifications, no automated SMS triggers, and no refill-due reminders from VLS. Clinics are notified when the pharmacy initiates contact — not when the clinic wants to check status. If a status update has not arrived and a patient is asking, the clinic calls VLS.

This page explains how VLS's pharmacy outreach model compares to platform notifications, what the clinic must manage itself, and how Fizy Health alerts staff automatically as orders change stage.

How notifications work in a fax-and-phone pharmacy model

In a traditional pharmacy relationship, notifications are outreach events: the pharmacy calls or emails when something happens that the clinic needs to know. VLS Pharmacy follows this model — it contacts the office when an order is ready, shipped, or when an issue arises. There is no software layer sending automatic push notifications, no alert rule system the clinic configures, and no refill-due reminder engine. The clinic is the receiver of pharmacy-initiated communication, not a subscriber to automated platform events.

What pharmacy-initiated outreach covers — and what it does not

VLS's phone and email outreach covers the events VLS initiates: an order is ready, an order has shipped, there is an Rx error or clinical question. It does not cover events the clinic wants to be proactively informed about: a refill coming due in five days, an order that has been in compounding longer than expected, or a new stock availability for a medication previously unavailable. Those events require the clinic to call VLS proactively.

For a low-volume relationship where VLS orders are a small portion of the clinic's weekly work, waiting for VLS to call is manageable. At higher volume, staff increasingly find themselves calling VLS for status updates on outstanding orders rather than receiving them automatically.

How Fizy Health handles notifications

Fizy Health fires notifications off accurate per-line order tracking — as each line moves through compounding, shipping, and delivery, the platform records the stage change and notifies the clinic. Staff are alerted as each stage changes rather than waiting for the pharmacy to initiate contact. Refill reminders surface which patients are coming due so refill day is planned in advance instead of reactive.

Because alerts run on per-line, per-patient status, they stay accurate even when a checkout splits across compounders. A notification that a specific patient's semaglutide has shipped and another's is still in compounding is more actionable than one ambiguous status call from the pharmacy.

FAQ

What clinics ask about VLS Pharmacy notifications.

  • Definition

What notifications does VLS Pharmacy send?

VLS Pharmacy contacts the prescribing office by phone or email when an order is ready or shipped, or when there is a clinical question or Rx issue. There are no automatic platform push notifications, configurable alert rules, or refill-due reminders from VLS.

  • Shipped

Does VLS Pharmacy notify you when an order ships?

VLS staff contact the office by phone or email when an order ships. The timing of that contact depends on VLS's internal process. There is no automatic system-triggered notification or carrier tracking integration that pushes updates to the clinic in real time.

  • Rejections

Does VLS Pharmacy alert you if an Rx is rejected?

VLS staff call or email the office when an Rx has an error or issue requiring correction — this serves as the rejection notification. There is no instant platform alert; the timing depends on when the pharmacist reviews the Rx and when they reach the office.

  • Refills

Does VLS Pharmacy alert you when refills are due?

No. VLS Pharmacy does not track refill cadences or send refill-due reminders to the clinic. The clinic is responsible for knowing which patients are due and initiating each new Rx submission on time. Fizy Health provides refill reminders so refill day is planned rather than chased.

  • Configurable

Can you configure VLS Pharmacy notification preferences?

No. There is no software platform to configure. VLS notification behavior is the traditional pharmacy outreach model — phone and email from staff when events occur. Fizy Health lets staff configure which notifications they receive and on which channels.

  • Comparison

How is Fizy Health alerting different from VLS Pharmacy?

Fizy Health drives notifications off accurate per-line status and pairs them with refill reminders so alerts surface what needs attention — shipments, issues, and upcoming refills — automatically, without waiting for the pharmacy to call the office first.
