What compounder-direct pricing means in practice
Olympia Pharmacy is a 503A and 503B compounding pharmacy. When a licensed clinic signs up through Olympia's contact process and is onboarded into the DrScript portal, it gains access to Olympia's formulary at the pricing established in the clinic agreement. That price is Olympia's own compounding cost plus margin — the same structure a specialized pharmacy uses when selling its own products to a customer. There is nothing inherently problematic about that model; it is how most single-compounder pharmacy relationships work.
The practical question for a clinic is verification. If Olympia Pharmacy's pricing is listed as a single per-vial rate inside DrScript, and the clinic agreement does not itemize compounding cost separately from any overhead or margin, then the only way to know whether the rate is competitive is to compare it against another source — either a different quote, a published catalog, or a pass-through platform showing 503A cost directly. Without that comparison, a clinic is taking a rate on faith rather than on math.
